A PROPOSED ARTWORK FOR BURNING MAN 2027

A place to

THE EXPERIENCE

Suspended in sound.
Rooted in connection.

Daytime concept of two people resting in a canvas hammock beneath the geometric timber canopy, with mountains beyond
Daytime experience · Tranquility Tree concept

Guided meditations and soundscapes become something you can feel. Vibroacoustic drivers at the hammock anchors bring tactile vibration into the experience of resting together.

Six upper hammocks float beyond the central platform over open air. Six more sit at playa level, offset below. Overhead, a continuous geometric pattern filters the desert light.

Built on six years of research, sculpture and experience design—and the vibroacoustic technology explored in Hortus Lux.

AFTER DARK

A luminous canopy.
An open sky.

Warm light reveals the lattice. Moving lights beneath the leaf tips and at the open center reach upward into the night.

THE EVOLUTION · HORTUS LUX → TRANQUILITY TREE

From a flower
to a gathering tree.

Hortus Lux invited ten people to recline in five steel petals, put on headphones and experience sound through vibration. It brought the idea of shared stillness into a sculptural form.

Tranquility Tree carries that experience forward: from steel petals to suspended canvas, from ten seats to a target of twenty-four, and from an open flower to a timber canopy that offers a place to gather beneath it.

Beautiful.
Shared.
Then, let go.

Tranquility Tree grows from a desire to offer more people a moment of stillness—and to create something beautiful that can disappear.

Following its time on the playa, the timber sculpture is intended to burn, subject to approval. Electronics and audio equipment would be removed for reuse. The experience remains with the people who inhabited it.
